So, I decided maybe it was time to post again since it's been about 2 1/2 years since I've posted. Wow how time flies! Many of you will know most of this but here's an update for those who don't... Big Events of 2007: Justin graduated from Concordia, but that may have been 2006, it's been so long it seems like a distant foggy memory. I am so proud of him for his accomplishment. I quit my old job as an admin. assistant at a local high tech company to go back to work at the place I worked in early college. Sort of funny I know... It is a temporary fix. Justin went on many trips last year for his job. Boston twice, Washington D.C., and Utah twice. I was able to meet him for a long weekend in Washington D.C. I must say it was rather impressive. I recommend this trip to anyone, but make sure you have about a week. There is so much to see! We bought our first home this summer. We have been really enjoying being homeowners and have truly learned what that means. Turns out, the house we bought needed more work than we thought at first gkance. We ended up replacing the carpet due to the previous owner's dog...need I say more? We painted every interior wall (with much appreciated help from many loved ones). There is still much to be done, mostly on the outside. We do love our cozy home and look forward to making many happy memories here. Justin was laid off from his job in the semiconductor industry in September. Sort of a blessing in some ways since he wasn't happy there. Not to mention for most of his time working there we were living up on the mountain, and he was commuting to Hillsboro everyday. He is still on the hunt and will hopefully find something soon. Justin turned the big 30! We had a big family BBQ at our house. His precious grammy gave him some paintings he picked out that she has been saving for him since he was 7 years old! Man, I love that woman... I am working full time and working on getting my real estate license. I am very excited about this. It is something I have always been interested in and have felt lead to achieve this goal now more than ever. I am still doing pottery, but it has been a few months since I've been able to get into the studio and boy do I miss it! I have two funny stories that are too long to post, but I had two ER visits since last summer. One was my new shellfish allergy. Mom was very thoughtful and we didn't have King crab legs on Christmas this year. She's always thinking. I sure do miss it though. Thank God for my sister-in-law (a paramedic) or I may have been dead. She pretty much scared me into calling 9-1-1. The other story is my "good samaritan dog bite" incident. It seems I have the worst luck with animals, but I love them anyway. For one who doesn't really have many emergency situations, I sure had my fair share last year! At least I can laugh about them now. Needless to say we have really had a year full of many changes and memories. We are so blessed to have each other, our families and our Savior to look out for us. Now you are all caught up and I'll try not to let it be another 2 years before I post again! Julz |
